*We are coming up on the 30th anniversary of the 1996 summer Olympics. And earlier this week three people who played a key part in bringing part of the games – rowing, canoeing, and kayaking – to Gainesville were recognized at a special ceremony at the local venue. A ribbon cutting was held for the Legacy Pavilion at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, honoring Gainesville’s Olympic legacy and Steve Gilliam, the late Jim Mathis, and Mary Hart Wilheit.

*WRWH reports that a 25-year-old Clermont man has been indicted by a White County Grand Jury on child sex charges. Justin Jeffrey Edge was arrested in March and charged with two counts of distribution of child sexual abuse material.
