The search is on in Columbus for a porch pirate dubbed the “Botanical Bandit” after ring camera footage surfaced showing the suspect allegedly stealing flowers. Pictures and video of the unidentified woman have now been shared hundreds of times across social media over the weekend in an attempt to identify her.
Surveillance video depicting the incident was captured on Hilton Woods Drive in the Mohina Woods neighborhood of Columbus. A woman is seen around 3 am Saturday morning snatching annuals from a porch. The images were captioned “What is wrong with people?” and quickly spread across Facebook.
Hundreds of people have since chimed in on the alleged theft. “Anybody know this unbelievable plant thief?” wrote one person. Color pictures and AI enhanced photos of the suspect have also been shared. “Spread her mug around and let’s see what her excuse might be?” another commentator wrote.
It is unclear if a report was filed with the Columbus Police Department. The original poster of the botanical bandit removed the images after the photos went viral on social media.
