Demorest’s Piedmont University and Forum Communications overhauled the university’s website — then won an award for it.
The Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA) announced Piedmont as the recipient of the Award of Excellence in the General Websites – Education category.
The award saw thousands of entries, with Piedmont’s coming out in front after nearly two years of planning and research before their late 2025 launch date.
Only one other university, Carnegie Mellon University, received the same recognition.
“Being selected to help shape Piedmont University’s new digital presence was a true honor,” Forum Communications’ Nick Kastner said. “Everything we built was driven by one goal, making it easier for students and parents to find the information that matters most to them.”
The reason for the website overhaul was parents and students struggling to navigate the previous iteration, leading to a focused plan to make the new design as user-friendly as possible.
The result? A navigation structure that put the right information within reach on any device.
“Forum Communications has been a wonderful partner in developing our brand messaging and our website,” Assistant Vice President of Public Affairs at Piedmont University Renee Fargason said. “We receive so many compliments on the new site, the way users engage with it has improved immensely, and we’re seeing higher enrollment that can be partially attributed to its stronger performance.”

“We are in an era of information and content overload. Breaking through requires the right message, medium, and moment,” AIVA General Manager Josh Campbell said.
