It was a hot Monday night of competition for the Top 11 contestants belting out Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tunes. At the end of the show, the Top 9 were announced. Lagrange hometown star, Philmon Lee, was eliminated. That’s when things got even hotter.
Social media was on fire with more than a thousand comments. “Philmon was robbed.” “I demand a recount.” “I’m so deflated. You were my favorite.” “I’m gutted. You were my top pick right from the beginning!”
One of his Lagrange fans is encouraging others to demand answers: “Philmon showed up, gave his all, and somehow didn’t make it through? Meanwhile, people across the country are saying:
- They couldn’t even watch before voting closed
- Voting wasn’t clear or easy to understand
- And now… we’re left with ZERO transparency
That’s not fair—to him or to the fans. We deserve answers. We deserve to see the voting numbers.

When Now Georgia interviewed Philmon on Sunday, the day before the American Idol episode, he felt great and was looking forward to his performance.
“No matter what happens, it’s been a great experience. If God has plans to send me home, I still got to do something I love,” he said.
According to Philmon’s mom, Kristi Terry, “We will be on our way back to Lagrange soon, but will return for the show’s finale on Monday, May 11.
Philmon’s family, friends, and fans believe his elimination is not the end but only the beginning of a successful career in music.
