A Gwinnett County man is being held in the Hall County Jail for immigration authorities following a weekend traffic accident. He’s also facing two counts of hit-and-run and eight other traffic-related charges.
GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“Saturday about 6:30, state troopers were dispatched to, two separate, two-vehicle crashes on Atlanta Highway (SR 13) in the area of Hilton Drive.
Upon arrival, they determined a 2017 Ford F250, driven by Rony Chaver Bonilla, 29, from Lawrenceville, and a 2016 GMC Canyon, driven by Hilda Molina, 56, from Gainesville, were traveling south on SR 13. Mr. Chaver Bonilla was following too closely and struck the rear of the Canyon.
After impact, Mr. Chaver Bonilla fled the scene and struck a Honda Civic driven by Odel Francisco Forbes, 43, from Gainesville on SR 13 south of the first crash and fled the scene.
Lawrenceville Police were able to locate Mr. Chaver Bonilla at the home of the truck’s owner and placed him under arrest…”
