Georgia Governor Brian Kemp issued his appointments this week for the new Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority Board (GTEAB,) and the list included a former State House candidate from Gwinnett County.

The board was created by a 2026 State House bill signed by Kemp that dismantled the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority and reconstructed the Atlanta-region Transit Link, creating a single entity focused on “efficiency and limited government.” The two boards previously combined for 31 members, whereas the GTEAB will now have just 13.

One of those 13 members will be Narender Reddy, a Gwinnett County resident who ran twice as a Republican for Georgia State House District 50 in 2022 and 2024. In both races, he lost to Democrat Michelle Au.

The list of appointees was issued by Kemp on Thursday, May 21, and also included members from Chatham, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Muscogee and Walton counties. Reddy’s term, per Kemp’s executive order, will expire on May 21, 2030.

Kemp had previously endorsed Reddy in his runs for Georgia State House.
