The Chabad Jewish Center of Hall County will hold two events to celebrate Chanukah in Gainesville and Flowery Branch.
The organization will kick off the first night of the Festival of Lights on Dec.14 in Downtown Gainesville.
The celebration in Gainesville will feature a giant menorah lighting, Chanukah crafts, festive music, latkes and doughnuts and a grand dreidel game.
On Dec. 21, the Chabad of Hall County will celebrate the final night of Chanukah in Downtown Flowery Branch across from City Hall. The event will feature the Chanukah Gelt Drop, where Hall County Firefighters will assist in showering chocolate Chanukah coins (gelt) from a ladder.
The celebration will also include a Menorah lighting ceremony, live music and holiday treats.
Both events will kick off on their respective dates at 4:30 p.m. The celebrations are free and open to all.
