Hall’s jobless rate up

Hall County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.3%, up six-tenths from September to November, according to the state labor department (GDOL). A year ago, the rate was 2.7%. The report was issued Thursday morning. (EDITOR’S NOTE: Data for October is not available because of the federal government shutdown.)

The labor force in Gainesville decreased by 93 from September to November and increased by 228 over the year, to 109,274.

The county finished the month with 105,693 employed residents. That number decreased by 717 from September to November and fell by 414 from the same time a year ago.

In addition, it ended the month with 109,000 jobs. That number was up 300 from September and rose by 100 from the same time last year.
