Hello and welcome to the Week 14 waiver wire watch for kickers!
The Thanksgiving holiday has come and gone and we’ve made it to the month of December. It’s time for you to lock in as we’ve made it to the end of the regular season in most leagues before the kicking off the fantasy football playoffs next week.
We’ll go over some kickers that you should consider scooping off the waiver wire ahead of Week 14 and as always, we’ll classify a waiver add as someone that is rostered in 50% of leagues at the max. This week also marks the final set of byes across the league, so pay attention to who will and won’t be available.
Week 14 byes: Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers
Evan McPherson, K, Cincinnati Bengals (26.5%)
Not only was McPherson the top fantasy kicker of the week, he put together the top kicking performance of the entire season so far in the Bengals’ 32-14 win over the Ravens on Thanksgiving night. The fifth-year veteran went a perfect 6-6 on field goal attempts, also drilling two PAT’s to send fantasy managers home happy with 24 points for the week. He’s picking up steam after a quiet start to the season and has climbed his way up to being a top-five fantasy kicker at the moment. We’ll see if he can keep climbing against the Bills this Sunday.
Week 14 matchup: @ Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m. ET
Ka’imi Fairbairn, K, Houston Texans (48.2%)
Fairbairn continues to be Mr. Reliable for the Texans and his leg was definitely needed as his successful two field goal and extra point attempts helped lift them past the Colts in a 20-16 road victory on Sunday. The veteran has maintained his place as a top-five fantasy kicker this season and he’s now averaging 11.6 fantasy points per game following Sunday’s performance. He’s helped Houston get back into the thick of the AFC playoff picture and should continue to be a relied upon leg for the rest of the season.
Week 14 matchup: @ Kansas City Chiefs, 8:20 p.m. ET
Riley Patterson, K, Miami Dolphins (1.7%)
Patterson is another name that has been heating up in recent weeks and he successfully booted four field goals in the Dolphins’ 21-17 victory over the Saints on Sunday. 14 fantasy points is what the fifth-year journeyman produced and it marked his second straight game with double digit points on the fantasy front. Miami is rolling on a three-game win streak right now and it may be a good idea to consider its placekicker off the waiver wire.
Week 14 matchup: @ New York Jets, 1 p.m. ET
