Around the SEC Wants Its Buyout

Dawg Nation – we have reached the end of the SEC regular season slate for the Dawgs. I can’t believe it, yet here we are. Georgia will look for another top 10 win this Saturday against Texas, which would see UGA finish 7-1 in the conference and be in a prime position to make the College Football Playoff. Before we kick things off Between the Hedges, let’s look around the league to see who is making headlines.

More Trouble in Baton Rouge

Former head coach Brian Kelly is suing LSU over the $54 million buyout he is owed. Apparently LSU is trying to claim they are terminating him “for cause”, which would prevent them from paying the buyout. However, being bad at football is not justification for a “for cause” termination. It’s incredible that Kelly is the sympathetic figure in this, good work LSU.

No Change in Gainesville This Time

After being bench last week, Florida will start DJ Lagway against #7 Ole Miss on Saturday. Lagway has struggled this season, and we may see backup Tramell Jones replace him again.

Did We Just Become Best Friends?

Texas quarterback Arch Manning and Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson are exchanging notes for their respective games against Georgia and Oklahoma. Manning’s Texas defeated Oklahoma while Simpson carved up Georgia in the Tide’s win in Athens. We’ll see how much help these budding bffls provide each other.

Taylen Green Good to Go

Arkansas quarterback is “good to go” for the Hogs’ game in Baton Rouge against LSU. Green left last week’s game against Mississippi State with a head and neck injury, so it’s great to see him healthy enough to play this weekend.
