The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested an 18-year-old woman from Cleveland on cruelty to children charges.
The GBI issued a statement on Wednesday saying they were asked to aid in a child abuse investigation by the Cleveland Police Department on Nov. 4. That investigation is reportedly ongoing, but the GBI said it had moved to press charges based on information gathered so far.
Alyssa Marie Clark, age 18, was arrested on two counts of cruelty to children. She was booked into the White County Detention Center on Monday, Nov. 10, where she remained as of Wednesday, Nov. 12.
“Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Enotah Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the GBI said.
No other details on the alleged abuse were released by authorities as of Wednesday morning.
