Our first Game of the Week for the 2025-26 basketball season is Tallulah Falls vs Towns County. The TFS teams are fresh off Elite 8 runs. Towns County’s boys team is coming in state-ranked with all their starters back (much like TFS), while the girls lost a significant amount of starters (just like TFS as well).

TALLULAH VS TOWNS GIRLS
The Lady Indians of TFS moved on from five starters who graduated. Late heroics by LB Kafsky propelled the team to an Elite 8 run, and she was starting by the end. She’s back, and Lia Sanjur will be a key piece as well Klara Dvorakova (keep an eye on that name). This game might mean shaking off some rust and getting some jitters out for some up-and-coming players in their first varsity start. Towns County is in a similar arena. The Lady Indians have their best player back in Scotlyn Fain, and Ava Thompson completes a solid duo. A lot of young players after that who will be making their first start at the varsity level. Two teams with a similar roster, but let’s see who’s got an early head start on the upward trajectory.

TALLULAH VS TOWNS BOYS
This one will be intense and fast. The TFS team made an Elite 8 and return almost all their playmakers, including Neyo Bain and Brian Neely. Todor Stanimirovic supplies the presence down low defensively and also can score there, but Bain and Neely often run the offense. Marquis Rolle is someone to watch as well. Towns County has all its starters back from a Sweet 16 run, and an early #6 preseason ranking shows the hype that surrounds them. All-State Tucker Engert, Dustin Barrett, and Jonas Rouse make for an incredible core that will lead this team this winter. They’re going to be tough to stop with so many scoring options. This one pits two great teams against each other with a chance for both to sharpen up and see who might be a step ahead right now.
