TOCCOA, Ga. – A wanted fugitive out of Cobb County was arrested in Toccoa on November 11 after officers stopped a car driving without headlights on West Currahee Street.
Police say the driver, Jayro Nieto, had several outstanding warrants on him, including possession of a stolen vehicle and hit and run in Cobb County. He also had outstanding driving and possession charges in Valdosta.
Nieto was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office.
“This traffic stop is a great example of our officers’ commitment to proactive policing and community safety,” said Toccoa Police Chief Bruce Carlisle. “Their attentiveness helped remove a wanted fugitive from our streets.”
